Bits of Brillance

A bit of inspiration to brighten your day along with my creations and occasional meanderings.

“ Oh the places you’ll go! There is fun to be done! There are points to be scored. There are games to be won. And the magical things you can do with that ball will make you the winning-est winner of all. ”

For those of you who’ve been asking me how I do my lettering on my hoops, here’s a time-lapse I did of one awhile ago.
About 1:30 in I write on thin lined paper how I want the letters to look, pencil first, then pen. I usually trace the curve of the hoop too to make sure it curves with it. Then I pin it down and embroider right through the paper and follow my lines as closely as I can. Then when I’m finished I carefully pull out the paper from underneath.
Any other questions I’d be happy to answer, they’re no secret.

“ I think I’ve discovered the secret of life — you just hang around until you get used to it. ”

“ In the name of God, stop a moment, cease your work, look around you. ”
